Security Sector Governance and Mgmt

Accra, Ghana. Former Prime Minister Campbell spoke at an "SSR Program", which stands for Security Sector Governance and Management. The program was organized by a UK Defence Advisory Team Initiative in Ghana in partnership with the University of Ghana, the Ghanian Institute for Management and Public Affairs, and African Security Dialogue Research. Ms. Campbell was part of a delegation form the Club of Madrid that participated.

Ms. Campbell addressed mid- and senior-level officers, ministry officials, and parliamentarians taking the SSR course. She spoke of the "importance of good Security Sector Governance: the Canadian Experience" drawing on her background of service as prime minister as well as minister of defence.


Mount Holyoke College Commencement

South Hadley, MA. Former Prime Minister Kim Campbell delivered the commencement speech at Mount Holyoke, a premier research liberal arts college for women which is renowned for its academic rigor and internationalism. In her address, Ms. Campbell explained many of the factors that women still battle against in order to obtain and fulfill roles as leaders in today's world.
