A Bold Vision, a national visioning conference for Canadian women took place in September, 2014 and helped mark the 150th anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference, when the Fathers of the Confederations came together to discuss a vsion that lead to the creation of Canada. A Bold Vision: a national project designed to bring 23 visionary women, including Former Prime Minister Campbell, together to create their own vision for the next 150 years. Lindblad / National Geographic Expedition NW PassageAugust 10, 2014Greenland/Canada. Serving as a Global Perspectives Guest Speaker, Kim Campbell joined the Lindblad Expeditions/National Geographic cruise in Nuuk, Greenland, and went on to explore the Northwest Passage. Campbell delivered two speeches: one focused on the history of Canada's exploration of the Arctic, and the other about the NW Passage. Ms. Campbell and her fellow passengers enjoyed learning about the NW Passage and seeing sights such as these. Paris, France. Frmr PM Campbell was a featured speaker at the recent Conference for Democratic Change in Iran. Speakers from all over the world came to participate in the conference, which is held every year in June. In her speech Ms. Campbell hearkened back to her experience in Soviet Studies to say that none of the experts knew when the Soviet Union would fall and the same could be true for Iran. She also referred to a recent article written by Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird, which pointed out that President Rouhani has NOT kept the promises he made when he assumed office a year ago. Ms. Campbell noted that many had been hopeful when Rouhani had taken office... that perhaps he might usher in new democratic reforms. Unfortunately, he has not lived up to those hopes. "So much for being the Iranian Gorbachev" said Ms. Campbell. Ms. Campbell concluded her speech by saying, "Pay attention. Be brave. Be ready. We'll be there with you." WATCH MS. Vancouver, Canada. Frmr PM Campbell participated in a Convocation Dialogue with the Simon Fraser University community along with David Baines, a former investigative reporter for the Vancouver Sun. Topics discussed included, "immoral and/or illegal conduct in the business world and the role of media, governments and universities in regulating the economy and containing the excesses of capitalism."

Vancouver, Canada. Simon Fraser University awarded Ms. Campbell with an honorary degree, and she spoke at their convocation. During her address she encouraged graduates to exercise their democratic rights such as voting in order in order to preserve and protect the right to question and investigate. --rights which were necessary for their studies and are not available in some other countries. The organization, abbreviated as CAHSMUN, is the largest high school conference of its kind in Western Canada. Organized annually in Vancouver, Canada, CAHSMUN attracts experienced and new Model UN participants from high schools all over Canada. Ms. Campbell spoke about her experiences as a Former Prime Minister of Canada and the role that youth have played in our society, and the impacts that they can make in the future. Paris, France. Frmr PM Campbell was a featured speaker at a conference on the occasion of International Women's Day. Speakers from all over the world came together with a "special focus on the plight of women in Iran under religious fundamentalist rule." The event was organized by several human rights and humanitarian organizations with particular concern for the rights of women. In her speech Ms. Campbell warned against the fact that "religious fundamentalism is always based on the repression of women" and that "Society cannot be half free... societies need women as political leaders." Washington, DC. Ms. Campbell participated in a panel convened by the Brookings Institution and the Club de Madrid. The high-level panel discussed how social inclusion should fit into the post-2015 development agenda. Other panelists were fellow-Club of Madrid members: Wim Kok, Frmr PM of the Netherlands; and Cassam Uteem, Frmr Pres of Mauritius. They were joined by Santiago Levy, VP for Sectors and Knowledge at the Inter-American Development Bank and John Podesta, a frmr member of the High-level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
